Tasks

• Bathe and shampoo animals
• Clip animal coat
• Document animal behaviour
• Monitor animal behaviour
• Prepare food and feed animals
• Style animal coat
• Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures
• Conduct anals glands treatment
• Keep records of animals treated
• Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals
• Supervise helpers
• Assist animal breeders to handle and nurture animals
• Clean animal ears
• Maintain and order supplies
• Assist zoo and wildlife workers in transferring, restraining, crating and uncrating animals
• Provide flea bath treatments to animals
• Assist researchers in conducting laboratory tests with animals
• Clip animal nails
• Perform expert clipping on show animals with tools including clippers, shears and massage sponges
• Perform dental cleaning on domestic animals
