Steelcon has applied for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) and will be ready to extend an offer to a foreign worker once the application is approved.

Tasks

  • Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to work safety, environmental safety and accident prevention.
  • Direct and control daily operations
  • Motivate staff
  • Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public
  • Review HR directives to assure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Conduct surveys and monitoring programs of the natural environment
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures
  • Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses
  • Initiate enforcement procedures to fine or close an establishment
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Oversee the preparation of reports
  • Advise senior management
  • Respond to employee questions and complaints
  • Liaise with management, union officials and HR consultants
  • Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers
  • Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
  • Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities
  • Conduct follow-up assessments
